Plans for this Month + Some Notable Info (Alternate Payment Method)

Hi all, thank you for your support! Some announcements:

1. Recurring Payment Oddity

First, an oddity in CCBill recurring subscriptions has been discovered that you might want to know. In the event a recurring payment fails (due to credit limit or freeze), you will retain your sub on Château. CCBill will then attempt to rebill you a few times over the next several days. Unfortunately this is based on a mysterious algorithm so there’s no telling when (in one case, this was 4~5 days between attempts). If the rebill is successful, your next payment will be based on when the first recurring payment was supposed to have taken place.

For example: recurring payment fails on the 1st day of the month. CCBill rebills you on the 4th day. This time it succeeds. Your next payment is on the 1st of next month.

If rebill fails repeatedly, your sub will finally cancel.

If you don’t like this mysterious rebill system, you can cancel manually on Château through the account drop down at the top right, after which you can start a new membership and “bill” immediately.

tbh this system seems weird to me. Maybe this is how all recurring subs work? On Gumroad I got “customer card declined due to multiple failures” notifications before so maybe the “multiple failures” is this “rebill attempt” system. 🤔

Thankfully the majority of recurring subs work with no issue, thank you for your support!

2. Alternative Payment Method

There was expressed interest for this so I decided to implement it: You can now sub to my new Special Service Tier for 9000 JPY on FANBOX for 1 month and I will manually gift you 1 year of Standard Service on Château!

9000 JPY = about $60 USD = $5 x 12 months

So it’s like an annual pass, except you can use the payment options available on FANBOX!

The process:

1. Sub to Special Service.
2. Email me your FANBOX account name. (I might make a HTML form for this).
3. I gift your Château account 1 year of Standard Service, or manually make an account + password for you if you don’t already have an account.
4. For Premium Service, sub to Special Service on FANBOX for 2 months.

I will formally announce this and place the info on the membership outline page eventually. I will look into adding an annual pass system for CCBill too.
